Sheffield Wednesday plans for 2021/22 are not yet crystal clear, with Darren Moore’s retained list likely to tell us exactly the direction that he wants to take the club.

There are a number of senior players set to be out of contract at the end of June. You’d expect many of them to move on to a new challenge in the summer, but Moore has created a positive environment and it will be interesting to see how he sees his squad shaping.

One man who there is a decision to be made over is Keiren Westwood, the club’s long-serving goalkeeper who has made almost 200 appearances since arriving at Hillsborough in 2014.

Westwood’s career at Wednesday has been largely successful and his arrival in Yorkshire coincided with play-off ambitions under Carlos Carvalhal.

Carvalhal moved on and a host of other managers have got their teeth into Westwood. He’s been frozen out at times, but different managers have brought him back into the fold.

Moore has been one of those to lean heavily on Westwood, with the 36-year-old finishing the season with charge of the gloves.

Westwood has also previously stated to the Yorkshire Post that he would regret leaving on the back of relegation, which is, of course, the situation he now finds himself in.

Have there been any fresh developments?

There’s not really been much said about what’s going to happen next.

When Wednesday release their retained list, we will know more, but Moore has recently revealed that clarification isn’t miles away.

As quoted by The Star, he said: “It’s been more or less done and agreed by all the concerned parties here at the football club, but going on from there really it’s about letting individuals know which side things are going to go for the new campaign.”

It appears that the news many are waiting for isn’t miles away.

What club do these 21 former Sheffield Wednesday players ply their trade at now?
