Inter Milan head coach Simone Inzaghi has moved to reveal his appreciation for the talents of a leading member of the midfield ranks at Barcelona.

The player in question? Frenkie de Jong.

Inter and Barcelona of course locked horns for the 2nd time in the space of a week on Tuesday night.

When all was said and done, it was the former who emerged on the right side of a 7-6 aggregate result, enough to secure for the Nerazzurri a place in the finale of the Champions League.

The aforementioned Frenkie de Jong for his part featured from the off in both matches, from his customary berth at the base of Barcelona’s midfied.

And safe to say, the Dutchman’s efforts left a lasting impression on Inter Milan boss Simone Inzaghi…

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of last night’s San Siro clash, Inzaghi went as far as to label De Jong ‘just sensational’:

“Let me say that Frenkie de Jong is just sensational, he’s a world class player. Frenkie surprised me at same level as Lamine Yamal did.”
