An update on the wellbeing of Barcelona and Spain star Pedri has on Saturday come to the fore online.

And the news will no doubt mark a heavy blow for club, country, and player alike.

Pedri, for his part, was of course forced into a premature departure from the Spanish national team’s Euro 2024 showdown with Germany yesterday evening.

On the receiving end of a heavy challenge on the part of Toni Kroos in the middle of the park, the 21-year-old attempted to run the problem off, before succumbing to as much minutes later.

Initial reports pointed towards Pedri as having picked up a knee injury, albeit with his presence on the bench for much of Friday’s matchup having given rise to hope that the issue was not a serious one.

Unfortunately for the midfield starlet, however, he does in fact look set for an extended spell on the sidelines.

As revealed by Barcelona insider Javier Miguel of Diario AS to Barca Times on ‘X’, Pedri has picked up a grade 2 sprain in his knee.

He is therefore expected to be out of action for the next five to six weeks.
