An insight into the plans of Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick to replace Alejandro Balde in the club’s next outing has on Monday been provided.
This comes with Barcelona’s first-choice left-back having been ruled out tomorrow night, against Stade Brestois.
After sitting out on Saturday night in the Blaugrana’s post-international break return to action against Celta Vigo, Balde will also play no part in the Champions League on Tuesday, owing to a hamstring problem.
As much means that Hansi Flick will be forced to alter his defensive plans once more.
The natural options at the disposal of the German tactician come in the form of youngsters Héctor Fort and Gerard Martín.
The latter, as has proven the case across much of the season to date, was given the nod against Celta Vigo over the weekend.
Martín’s ensuing struggles, however, culminated in the 22-year-old being hooked from proceedings at Balaídos with just 45 minutes on the clock.
And replacement Fort’s impressive display over the remainder of the clash, according to Diario AS, is set to prove enough to push the latter into a starting role against Brest.
