Southampton 1 Newcastle 3 – Saturday 25 January 2025 3pm
The photo that Newcastle United fans had all really really wanted to see on Saturday.
As United got back into the groove.
Alexander Isak with another two goals, an astonishing run of thirteen goals in his last 10 Premier League games.
Isak and Gordon setting Tonali up for the third, a superb team goal.
A great committed team performance though, United fully deserved the win and now back into winning form again!
Another winning snapshot post-match.
Another photo = The sixteenth of this season.
The Newcastle United Head Coach introduced this tradition of a post-match everybody included photo following each victory, as he felt it had worked as a bonding exercise when he was at Bournemouth.
(It is actually the eighteenth victory of the season for United but for whatever reasons, no winning photo after the win over AFC Wimbledon. Then at the Emirates, I think for sure that no post-match dressing room photo was done due to the fact the Arsenal semi-final tie is only at halfway.)
Ten wins in the last eleven games (all competitions) and the ninth photo from this run.
Great to see.
It is also a massive bonus just how much it winds up fans of certain other clubs and journalists.
‘Look at them, think they have won the Premier League / Champions League… etc etc’
I absolutely love it.
Fifteen more Premier League games to go, as well as fingers crossed plenty more cup matches (in both competitions!), so hopefully many more of these photos to come.
