kicker reports that Hertha Berlin are interested in giving attacker Fabian Reese a lifetime contract at the club as they look to avoid loosing their talismann.

Reese signed an extension in the Hauptstadt until 2028 at the beginning of last year, and during his time at the club since joining from Holstein Kiel, the 27-year-old has proved integral to the club as they try and find a way to gain promotion to the Bundesliga.

With Reese’s performances, he has attracted interest from the Bundesliga, but Hertha wants to avoid losing their most important player, so they will stretch themselves to keep him.

The plan is to offer the 27 year old a new contract which will included another salary increase but will also be a lifetime contract with an agreement that he can become an official at the club after his retirement.

Hertha are planning to push to gain promotion back to the Bundesliga next season, and Reese will be a key part of this. This season, Reese missed a large part of it with an ankle injury, but since his return, the winger has 10 goals in 16 appearances. If Reese was not injured for that lengthy spell, Hertha would likely be better than their current 11th place.
