Southampton prodigy Tyler Dibling has been demoted from England U21 to England U19 squad following his poor Premier League form.
Do you know why the Premier League is the toughest European League? Not just because of the intense competition here or its physicality, but due to the minimal error margin it allows.
Know what they say? One slip-up in this competition and it's a completely deviated career trajectory forever.
Now this is something probably, no one would relate better than Southampton fans. After all, the example of forward Ben Brereton Diaz is still fresh to every supporter.
Having struggled to perform up to Top Flight expectations, Diaz remains sidelined from Chile's International selections. To note, it remains the same even though he is running the show for Sheffield United now.
Admitted the 25-year-old is not part of the Saints' current roster, still, his situation hurts St. Mary's faithful, right? But just imagine, if Southampton fans have to witness one of their shining stars suffer like this.
Sadly, one doesn't need to picture this - it is happening now. This is because Southampton prodigy Tyler Dibling faces demotion from England's U21 ranks back to U19.
As you might know, the next matchday leads into the March International break. Now, as per England's recently released squad list for the same, Tyler Dibling returns to U-19s after having had a couple of U-21 Caps this season.
Honestly, Dibling's demotion to his age group is shocking but not at all surprising. After all, the English prodigy's Premier League form hasn't been the same post his January injury. Believe it or not, the teenager is yet to contribute a goal to Southampton's tally this year.
You might agree with this, Dibling's International career so far has ridden between the extremes. While a sparkling October aced his entry into U21s, his poor run has seen him demoted now.
Clearly, Dibling should return to his best if the teenager wants to contend for a big transfer this summer. After all, having decided upon his future, that's what suits Southampton as well, right?
