After a difficult start to the season, Chris Führich played a key role for VfB Stuttgart on Saturday, opening the scoring in a 2-0 win over VfL Bochum.
But he believes Führich is improving. And with Stuttgart's attacking ranks ravaged by injuries, the timing could hardly be better.
"Things are going in the right direction at the moment. It's true that he didn't get off to a good start, as he himself said recently," Hoeness said after Stuttgart's win over Bochum.
“Regardless of who's injured and who's not, Chris is one of the players in our squad who can decide games. He simply has the individual qualities in one-on-one situations to create goalscoring opportunities, and he showed that for long stretches of last season."
Now, of course, Führich will be looking to build on his recent form.
"We can now use anyone who can score goals," said Hoeness, who is without Jamie Leweling, Deniz Undav and El Bilal Touré through injury.
“He, like others, has already proven that he can do that. It's important that we make the best of the situation with these injuries.”
Stuttgart next face Crvena Zvezda in the Champions League on Wednesday.
