Barcelona youngster Lamine Yamal could yet carve his name ever further into the club’s history books, before the season is out.

This comes amid confirmation that the 17-year-old is closing on an all-time Blaugrana assist record.

Lamine, for his part, was of course in from the off once more this past weekend, as Barcelona locked horns with arch rivals Real Madrid in the finale of the Copa del Rey.

And, en route to an eventual 3-2 triumph, the Spanish international played a starring role.

Lamine laid on the assists for each of his side’s first two goals, first for Pedri, and later Ferran Torres.

And as alluded to above, in the process, the young winger inched ever closer to securing for himself an all-time record in Catalunya’s capital.

Lamine, all told, has now racked up 24 assists across all competitions this season.

This, incredibly, is just three shy of the record for any Barca player in a single campaign, with Lionel Messi the current benchmark holder, with 27.
