Nations League quarter-finals begin tonight

Denmark and Portugal face off tonight in the first leg of their Nations League quarter-final.

Brian Riemer's side are in the knockout stages of the competition for the first time, and the manager - appointed in October - is still searching for the first win of his tenure at the third time of asking.

For Portugal, they are bidding to win the Nations League twice, having won the inaugural competition in 2019, a feat no team has yet achieved.

Denmark's impressive home record - one loss in 15 - takes on Portugal's disappointing away form - two wins from six - but the latter will head to the Parken Stadium confident of a positive result.

The Danes will be without captain Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Mads Roerslev and striker Kasper Dolberg due to injury, but Christian Eriksen is fit to get the nod in midfield.

Eriksen will be lining up against Manchester United team-mate Bruno Fernandes, who returns after suspension, while Cristiano Ronaldo will earn his 218th cap.

There is interest for Chelsea, beyond a possible outing for Pedro Neto as 17-year-old Portugal star Geovany Quenda, who is set to join the Blues, could be afforded a run out by head coach Roberto Martinez.
