Heracles have announced that Ruben Roosken will join Huddersfield Town in January. The left-back had just a few months left on his contract that expired at the end of the current season. Rather than see him leave on a free in the summer, the Eredivisie side have agreed a deal that will see the player swap the Netherlands for Yorkshire in a few days. The 24-year-old has primarily been used as a left-back, but can also operate at right-back or even further forward on the left hand side.

Roosken has played 18 games for Heracles in the cup and league this season. He has scored once and provided two assists in that time. Roosken began his career with FC Emmen but only made three appearances for the side before joining second tier Top Oss in 2020. During his first season with the side he grabbed five assists in 30 games, catching the eye of Heracles who signed him the following summer. Roosken’s leaves Heracles having played 89 games for the side, scoring twice. His best season for the side came during their promotion campaign of the 2022/2023 season where he scored once and grabbed five assists.
