The Tigers still have work to do on their squad this summer

Hull City are keen to sign Eintracht Frankfurt winger Faride Alidou before the transfer window closes.

That's according to a report from TeamTalk, who say that the 23-year-old is also attracting attention from elsewhere in Europe.

Alidou joined Frankfurt back in the summer of 2022, signing from fellow German side SV Hamburger.

He then spent last season on loan elsewhere in the Bundesliga with Koln, although he was unable to prevent them being relegated to the German second-tier.

Now though, it appears that the winger could be on the move again this summer, as interest emerges in his services, including from the Championship.

Tigers keen on Bundelsiga winger

As per this latest update, Hull are targeting a move to sign Alidou this summer, as they look to boost the options in their squad.

However, they are not alone with their interest in the former German youth international, with Serie A clubs reportedly also showing an interest in the winger.

It is claimed that Tigers manager Tim Walter is already a fan of Alidou, who he previously managed during his time in charge of Hamburger.

Hull are said to have made the signing of a new winger a high priority this summer, following Jaden Philogene's return to Aston Villa earlier in the market.

As things stand, there are two years remaining on Alidou's contract with Frankfurt, securing his future at the club until the end of the 2025/26 season.

That will give the German side some scope to negotiate any offers that come in for the winger before the end of the month.

So far this summer, Hull have made a total of nine first-team signings in the transfer market.

Ryan Giles, Cody Drameh, Marvin Mehlem, Anthony Racioppi, Liam Millar, Mason Burstow and Charlie Hughes have all joined permanently.

Meanwhile, Finley Burns and Oscar Zambrano have signed on loan from Manchester City and LDU Quite respectively.

The Tigers have drawn their first two Championship games of the season against Bristol City and Plymouth Argyle, and were knocked out of the Carabao Cup by Sheffield Wednesday.

Hull are next in action on Saturday afternoon, when they host Millwall at The Den.

Alidou could be a risky signing for Hull

It does feel as though there would be something of a gamble being taken if the Tigers were to move for Alidou this summer.

There can be no denying that they do need to add to their wide options before the window closes, after the departure of Philogene in particular.

However, the fact that Alidou does not have the most prolific record in front of goal may be a concern. There may also be questions about whether he could adapt to a new league and country.

It could though, be argued that his best returns in his career so far, in terms of goal contributions, have come when he was playing for Hamburger under Walter.

That could indicate that a move to Hull to play under his former boss could have the potential to bring the best out of him, and perhaps make him an asset for the Tigers.

So with that in mind, it could be argued that a move to bring Alidou to the MKM Stadium before the window closes, may be worth exploring at the very least.
