This is according to Hull Live, who have also reported that they would prefer to get a deal over the line for Sorba Thomas at this stage, considering the Huddersfield Town-owned star would be a permanent addition.

Permanent additions seem to be preferred at the MKM Stadium at this stage, considering the Tigers already have six loanees at their disposal, with only five able to be named in the matchday squad at this stage.

There may be speculation about the futures of Fin Burns and Chris Bedia, and Carl Rushworth may have been recalled by Brighton and Hove Albion, but Ruben Selles may be reluctant to leave loan players out of his matchday squad.

Selles has been very busy in the transfer market this month, with Matt Crooks, Nordin Amrabat, Kyle Joseph and Elliot Matazo joining the club permanently, and both Joe Gelhardt and Lincoln Henrique making loan switches to the MKM Stadium.

And there could potentially be more additions before the window closes next Monday, with the club keen to sign Charlie Taylor from Southampton.

One further addition, on top of that, could be made.

Hull City stance on Louie Barry becomes clearer

Hull are one of several sides believed to be interested in Villa starlet Barry, who starred on loan at Stockport County during the first half of this season and could make another loan move away from Villa Park before the deadline.

But it doesn't look as though the Tigers are pushing too hard to get a deal over the line, with Hull Live reporting that they would prefer to secure a deal for Thomas at this point, because Selles doesn't want a major loan conundrum on his hands.

Thomas, who secured a loan switch from Huddersfield to Nantes in the summer, could potentially be set for a permanent move to the MKM Stadium. However, it remains to be seen whether they can get a deal over the line for the wide player.

Louie Barry could have been a good addition for Hull City

Barry was a real star for Stockport and could quite easily make the step up to the Championship.

In their quest to secure survival, having extra firepower can't hurt them, and Barry could have been one of the first names on the teamsheet for them.

He could have played out wide and centrally, with his versatility likely to have been an asset for Selles.

However, Hull already have more than enough loanees and Taylor may also join on a temporary deal.

With this in mind, the Tigers must focus on permanent signings now, and this is what they may do.
