Real Madrid recorded a very impressive 3-0 victory over Girona on Saturday, and for Daniel Yanez, it is a day that he will never forget. He was drafted into the matchday squad after Rodrygo Goes was forced to pull out with muscular discomfort, and he was rewarded with a cameo in the final minutes at Montilivi.

As per Diario AS, Yanez shared his thoughts on making his debut when speaking to the media after full time.

“I had been dreaming of this moment for a long time, since I was born I was already a Real Madrid fan. As a child I said it was my dream and it has come true. Ancelotti has told me to enjoy myself, to play as I know how, to do what I do as my team and to let go.

“They called me to come to Girona today and I want more than ever, to be honest. It’s been a very good year for me, I work my best every day and I hope more days like this come. I am a humble person who always dreamed of playing with the greats and learning from them. And that is what I am going to continue doing.”

Yanez is highly-rated within Real Madrid, and he will hope that this appearance is the first of many that he makes for the club of his life.
