FC Barcelona have one of the most talented squads in the world at the moment and the most exciting fact about the situation is that most of these players are nowhere close to entering the prime years of their career.

Among the many youngsters who are currently in the squad, one of the most talented players is Marc Casado. Not a child prodigy, he has worked a lot to get to where he is and has just recently made his debut for Spain.

Casado’s performances throughout this season have earned him a lot of plaudits. The Spanish squad, which contains so many well-established players, was said to be left in awe after seeing the 21-year-old’s performances for his country this week.

The thing that stands out about Casado is how, at 21, he looks so assured about his game. As highlighted by SPORT, the Spanish international spoke about the importance of understanding the strengths and weaknesses of his game. He said:

“I think I’m a fairly complete player, but at Barça, there are players who do wonders with the ball. That’s never been my standout trait because here you find the best in that regard. I stood out more for being scrappy, which you don’t find as much in this club.”

Continuing along the same lines, the 21-year-old was asked about whether he was surprised by the assists that he has been giving this season. He said:

“It’s true that assisting wasn’t really a habit of mine… I won’t say I’m surprised, but a little bit, yes. When I was in the reserve team, I thought I could do these things, but I wasn’t pulling them off. Now that I’ve joined the first team, they just come naturally.”

It is safe to say that Casado is the blue-collar maestro at Barcelona at the moment. The best part about what he does is that he enjoys doing whatever he does on the pitch and claims he is happy about doing the dirty work for the team.

Casado seems to have mastered the slide tackle. His performances so far this season have been incredible. One can only hope that he continues performing at a very high level going forward and let’s wait and see how it happens.
