A journalist has just dropped some intriguing information on a potential hint of Valentin Barco joining Chelsea from Brighton.
The news comes off the back of Chelsea getting an essential three points on Saturday afternoon by beating Everton 1-0 at home after a fantastic first half goal from striker Nicolas Jackson ending his 2025 goal draught.
It was far from an easy game for Chelsea though, and goalkeeper Robert Sanchez became the unlikely hero and was actually the reason that they could see the win out and collect all three points, making some big second half saves to deny certain goals.
Another one of Chelsea’s best players on the pitch was defender Trevoh Chalobah and really, he was a strong candidate for man of the match too. Enzo Maresca defended Chelsea’s decision to let him go on loan in the summer after then recalling him in the winter.
With all the talk about the season ending soon comes the next summer transfer window, and Chelsea are expected to be active. Could they turn their attentions to a Strasbourg player, being their sister club under the BlueCo umbrella? Barco is of course a player owned by Brighton, on loan at the French side.
Chelsea could look to do a deal for Brighton and Hove Albion’s Valentin Barco this summer.
That’s at least according to journalist Augusto César, via El Intransigente, who believes Barco may be a name to keep an eye on for Chelsea this summer.
“I tell you, from information, Barco is at the club that belongs to the Chelsea group… I would be attentive in June,” he said on Radio La Red.
