Romeo Lavia hasn’t featured since the 2-2 draw with Bournemouth in the middle of January, but he’s back in training and could feature against Arsenal, after being an unused substitute against Leicester on Sunday.

Chelsea are expected to have the bulk of their players fit and available after the international break, which will be a huge boost ahead of a difficult run in.

Maresca confirmed Jackson wasn’t ahead of schedule in his recovery despite a social media post from the striker suggesting a return could be closer than expected.

The Italian also revealed at the time Madueke would be ruled out until after the international break, although there’s been good news in regards to the England international.

The 23-year-old was spotted on the training pitch in the background of Chelsea under-18’s defeat against Arsenal on Tuesday.

Felix Johnston confirmed the news on X.com.

“Fwiw, you could see Madueke doing individual ball work on the 1st team training pitch in the background of the U18s game.

“Also Dujuan Richards doing the same on an academy pitch nearby as he continues to recover from an ACL injury at the end of last season.”

Madueke has been one of Chelsea’s top performers this season and has seven league goals to his name, whilst Maresca had previously described him as one of the club’s best players.

Chelsea have missed his directness and goalscoring threat out wide and will hope he returns and helps the club secure Champions League qualification.
