Defender Alessandro Bastoni only suffered cramps in Inter Milan’s Serie A win over Venezia, and should be available against Arsenal and Napoli.
This according to Italian outlet FCInterNews. They report that the signs are very positive after the 25-year-old underwent medical tests after a second half substitution this evening.
Bastoni was among the players to come off during the second half of Inter’s Serie A clash with Venezia this evening.
The Nerazzurri eked out a 1-0 victory to capitalize on Napoli’s defeat against Atalanta earlier in the day.
But it would have felt like a very costly three points had Inter lost a key player like Bastoni.
And the reason for Bastoni’s substitution was indeed that the Italian international was feeling some muscular discomfort in his leg.
Therefore, it was natural for there to be an injury worry for the former Parma and Atalanta defender.
Bastoni waited a bit for the problem that he was feeling to settle down after coming off this evening.
Then, Inter’s medical staff examined the 25-year-old.
And according to FCIN, the medical staff found no indication of any sort of major injury such as a strain or tear.
Therefore, Bastoni should be able to return to training swiftly with the rest of his teammates.
And accordingly, the Italian international should certainly be available for Inter’s next match.
The Nerazzurri have a very big match on the way. On Wednesday, they host Premier League giants Arsenal at the San Siro in their fourth match in the competition this season.
Then, next weekend, Inter will face Napoli. It is a top-of-the-table clash that could see the Nerazzurri go top of the table if they win.
Therefore, it is a big sigh of relief to have a player like Bastoni available for such massive matches.
