Real Madrid will look to end 2024 on a strong note when they take on Sevilla in their final game of the year at the Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday.

Coming into the contest on the back of their FIFA Intercontinental Cup triumph, their second trophy of the season, the morale will be high in the Merengues’ camp.

And, there is more positive news for Carlo Ancelotti & co. on the injury front heading into Sunday’s encounter.

Ferland Mendy is back

Indeed, according to Mundo Deportivo, Real Madrid will have Ferland Mendy back in the squad for Sunday’s game against Sevilla after he trained with the squad today.

The 29-year-old left-back, one of Ancelotti’s most trusted players, has been out with a muscle injury he sustained during the game against Girona a couple of weeks ago.

However, the French international has seemingly fully recovered from the problem as he trained normally with the rest of the group today.

As such, if there are no setbacks, Mendy will be at the manager’s disposal when Real Madrid host Sevilla on Sunday.

Five players not in training

While Mendy came back to train today, Real Madrid saw five of their important players not participate in the group session.

Indeed, as per the report, Kylian Mbappe, Jude Bellingham, Thibaut Courtois, Vinicius Jr., and Federico Valverde all trained in the gym inside the facilities.

However, it does not mean that their availability for Sunday’s game is under threat and all are expected to be fit and ready to face Sevilla, although Vinicius will miss out through suspension for accumulation of cards.
