Inter are serious about their intention of injecting some youth into their team and, after nabbing Luka Sucic and making a move for Luis Henrique, they have set their sights on Gustavo Sa, who stars for Farmalicao, Tuttomercatoweb informs.
The Nerazzurri met with his representatives, who attended the Coppa Italia Derby last week. He has recorded 3 goals and 6 assists in 28 matches this season. He had started breaking out in the past one, his first as a regular, scoring three times and dishing out five helpers. He has 6 caps with Portugal U-21.
Inter will have to compete with Como, Fiorentina, and Atalanta to sign Sa. His price tag is €8/10M. He’s seen as a potential alternative to Nico Paz, who’s not easy to sign since Como are adamant about keeping him and Real Madrid have a buyback clause.
The 20-year-old is under contract until 2029. He joined Farmalicao at a young age after getting his start at Porto. He primarily plays as a no.10 but has occasionally featured in more defensive midfield roles.
He has the characteristics they are looking for and are lacking, but talents who aren’t too established coming in need a long time to win over Simone Inzaghi. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, as, for instance, it has worked out well with Yann Aurel Bisseck. They don’t necessarily need a difference-maker right away given the presence of Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Piotr Zielinski. Still, after getting a taste of Nico Paz, it’d be underwhelming if they signed somebody of decidedly inferior stature.
