Inter and Juventus set sights on Jonathan Tah as he’s out of contract in June, but they face a formidable foe, Bayern Munich, which have been courting him for a couple of years. His agent Pini Zahavi addressed his client to Welt Am Sonntag (via 90min).
“The situation is very easy. He’ll join a top club at the end of the season. The Bavarians continue to have excellent chances to sign him. Our idea was to join them last summer. They truly wanted him. Bayer Leverkusen could have profited from his transfer. Instead, they will get nothing now.”
Juventus have an immediate need at the position, but Tah won’t move in January, while Inter are always on the lookout for major Bosman signings. They might not confirm Francesco Acerbi and Stefan De Vrij.
According to Tuttomercatoweb, the Bianconeri are putting together their wish list for the next window. They will decide whom to target as it’s about to open. Milan Skriniar and Radu Dragusin top it.
Convincing a Bundesliga star to join when Bayern Munich are in the picture was always going to be a steep hill to climb. Plus, while he’s younger than previous targets who were nixed, it’s not so certain the Nerazzurri will continue to bring in veterans with Oaktree owning the team.
Despite the present hole and the fact that they can’t be choosy as their budget isn’t too large, the Old Lady should prioritize players who would be good fits next to Gleison Bremer in the future. Adding a lefty wouldn’t hurt.
