Como starlet Nico Paz could be one of the hottest properties in the summer transfer, with Inter vying for his signature. According to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla via FCInter1908, the reigning Serie A holders haven’t given up their hope of landing the 20-year-old despite Real Madrid’s interest.

Nico Paz swapped Estadio Santiago Bernabeu for Como last summer for a reported fee of €6 million. Not even the most optimistic Lariani fans could’ve hoped the young gun would have such an impact in his maiden season at the club.

Indeed, Paz has established himself as an influential player in Cesc Fabregas’ system. He’s the club’s joint-best scorer in Serie A this season with six goals. Inter have noticed the youngster’s rise to prominence and could launch a concrete bid to sign him in the summer.

However, Real Madrid could beat Inter to the punch. Los Blancos have a buyback clause, allowing them to re-sign the Argentina international for a mere €9m. Paz’s scintillating form at Como seems to have convinced the defending La Liga champions to bring him back to base.

Yet, if that doesn’t happen, Inter will try to pounce. It could cost them up to €20m, but given Paz’s potential, it feels like a bargain. Bologna’s Santiago Castro is another exciting young prospect followed by Nerazzurri president Beppe Marotta.

Meanwhile, Inter will part ways with Marko Arnautovic and Joaquin Correa. Their contracts at Giuseppe Meazza run out in June, with the club unwilling to offer them fresh terms. Their exits will pave the way for attacking reinforcements.
