Prodigious defender Tomas Palacios couldn’t hide his delight after finally making his first Serie A appearance for Inter Milan.

During his latest interview with DAZN, as reported by FCInterNews, the 21-year-old expressed his gratitude to his teammates and coaching staff for their support.

Inter got their stuttering Serie A title defense back on track following a dramatic 4-4 draw against Juventus last weekend.

Indeed, the Nerazzurri thumped 10-man Empoli 3-0 at Stadio Carlo Castellani.

Davide Frattesi was the man of the match, notching up a second-half brace to put clear daylight between the sides.

Furthermore, Lautaro Martinez received the ultimate confidence booster as he netted a late goal to cap off a scintillating win.

Simone Inzaghi oversaw only a second league clean sheet since the start of September.

With Inter in cruising control, Inzaghi introduced Palacios from the bench.

The Argentine youngster replaced Stefan de Vrij in the 81st minute for his maiden appearance in Serie A.

Given the formidable competition for defensive spots at Giuseppe Meazza, Palacios had to be patient.

Inzaghi rewarded his patience tonight, giving him a test of Serie A action, even if it was for ten minutes only.

But it was a dream come true for the young gun.

“I am happy because I played the first minutes with the new shirt and the guys helped me,” Palacios said in the aftermath.

“I am happy because I am learning a lot from these great champions in the team, I hope to continue like this.”

Palacios may not have to wait long for his second league outing.

With relegation-battling Venezia rolling into town next weekend, the Argentine could get more minutes in Serie A.

Much will depend on Francesco Acerbi’s physical condition.

However, the Italian veteran will unlikely recover in time.
