Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi feels that “winning is hard, but winning again is harder” for the Nerazzurri.
The coach gave his thoughts on the team’s ambitions for this season at the team Christmas party, via FCInterNews.
Inter have grown a lot in Inzaghi’s three seasons and counting in charge.
When the former Lazio coach took over, Inter had just won the Serie A title. But in his very first summer in charge, there was massive upheaval.
Big name players like Achraf Hakimi and Romelu Lukaku headed for the exit door.
But in Inzaghi’s first campaign as Nerazzurri coach, he proved that the level did not have to drop much at all even without such players.
Inter failed to win the Serie A title that season. They dropped off in the spring after a dominant run of victories in the winter.
But the Nerazzurri did win the Coppa Italia and the Supercoppa Italiana that campaign.
In Inzgahi’s second season at the helm, there were two more domestic cup trophies.
On the other hand, Inter regressed in the league.
But it was in Europe that the Nerazzurri really made that season memorable. They reached the Champions League final, where they only narrowly lost to Manchester City.
Last time out, Inter did get their hands on the Serie A title.
And the Nerazzurri did so in dominant fashion – they won by a margin of nearly twenty points in the league table in the end.
With the way the last three seasons have gone for Inter, the pressure has been on their shoulders at the start of this one.
There have been plenty of positives about the campaign so far for Inter. But at the same time, they’ve also had their share of setbacks.
Inter coach Simone Inzaghi commented that “Winning is hard, but winning again is harder.”
However, the Nerazzurri coach insisted that “I’m convinced that we can still do more great things.”
