Stefan de Vrij will return to the Inter Milan starting eleven for this evening’s Serie A match away to Cagliari.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi will otherwise refrain from making changes.
Netherlands international defender de Vrij did feature in Inter’s last match.
The 32-year-old came off the bench to help the team see out the closing stages of their Serie A win over Como.
However, de Vrij was dealing with an injury at the time. He had to grit his teeth and play amid an injury crisis in defense.
De Vrij’s problem was never a serious one, however.
Therefore, the former Lazio and Feyenoord defender has returned to fitness in the last few days.
The Dutchman will start in the centre of a back three with Alessandro Bastoni and Yann Bisseck.
Therefore, Carlos Augusto will drop to the bench.
That is the only change that Inter coach Simone Inzaghi is planning to make from the team that started against Como, however.
