Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi is ready to name his strongest available starting eleven against Como, with Nicolo Barella to start.
This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter take on Como in Serie A this evening. It will be their penultimate match of 2025, and their last at the San Siro.
And it will not be an easy match for Inter. The Lariani may have just come up from Serie B, but they’ve impressed in their first season back in the top flight.
Como have secured eye-catching wins over the likes of Atalanta and Roma already this season.
Therefore, Inter coach Inzaghi’s priority is hardly going to be squad rotation. He’s ready to go all-out.
The big news comes in midfield.
Nicolo Barella had been a doubt for this evening’s match. The Italian international suffered a thigh problem in last week’s Serie A win over Lazio.
However, Barella has made a very speedy recovery. So much so that he’s ready to start this evening.
And according to the Gazzetta, Inzaghi is ready to put Barella straight back in the starting eleven.
Meanwhile, in defense Inter are staring down a full-blown injury crisis.
Matteo Darmian and Stefan de Vrij are big doubts this evening. They join Francesco Acerbi and Benjamin Pavard on the injury list.
Therefore, Inzaghi has little choice but to play a back three of Carlos Augusto, Alessandro Bastoni, and Yann Bisseck.
The Gazzetta’s complete predicted Inter starting eleven for this evening’s match is as follows:
Inter (3-5-2): Sommer; Bisseck, Bastoni, Carlos Augusto; Dumfries, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Thuram, Lautaro.
