Inter Milan striker Marcus Thuram feels that the team winning is more important than his goal total after a hattrick against Torino.

The Frenchman spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after the 3-2 Serie A victory.

Prior to this evening, Thuram had already scored two braces in Serie A this season. He scored twice against both Genoa and Atalanrta.

But this time around, the 27-year-old did one better.

Thuram scored three goals to deliver three points to Inter.

The first of the France international’s two goals came in the first half. Both were headers, and both came from crosses from the left-hand side.

And the third Inter goal was also the result of a cross from the left.

Thuram’s strike partner Lautaro Martinez had his own header saved after an Alessandro Bastoni cross.

But Thuram was on hand. He reacted quickest to turn in the rebound and complete his hattrick.

Thuram’s hattrick means that he has now scored seven goals in seven matches.

That takes the 27-year-old level with Atalanta striker Mateo Retegui in the scoring charts for the Serie A season. They are well clear at the top as things stand.

But when this was pointed out to Thuram, he replied that “I’m not interested in these things.”

“The important thing is that Inter win,” the Frenchman added.

“There have been a few matches that I haven’t scored in,” Thuram noted. “But then today I scored three.”

“The team won and that’s what matters,” stressed the Inter striker.

Thuram noted that “Every match is difficult in Serie A.”

“But we have a great squad,” the former Borussia Monchengladbach striker said. “We brought in four or five players to help us out.”

“We’ll try to give our best,” Thuram said.
