At first, it was a pipe dream, only to become a genuine possibility over the course of the season.

Indeed, Simone Inzaghi looks destined to become only the second Inter manager to win an iconic treble.

Jose Mourinho achieved this remarkable feat in 2010.

For over a decade, it looked like Inter wouldn’t come close to replicating this achievement.

However, Inzaghi has reshaped the club’s fortunes, making the Nerazzurri faithful dream big again.

Inter headed into March’s international break three points clear of second-placed Napoli at Serie A’s table summit.

Furthermore, they’ve reached the Coppa Italia semi-finals, where they’ll meet AC Milan in April.

Lastly, the Nerazzurri will trade tackles with Bayern Munich in a mouth-watering Champions League quarter-final tie.

Therefore, they’re in contention for three major titles this term.

Nicolo Barella Reiterates Inter Milan Desire to Win Treble

“We like to fight on all fronts, even in the Club World Cup, without holding back,” Barella confirmed.

“You always need the ambition to start a competition and go as far as possible – maybe even lift the trophy.

“When I play for the national team, I want to win everything there is to win with the national team.

“When I play for Inter, I want to win everything there is to win with Inter.

“I think hiding is useless.”

Away on international duty with Italy, Barella admitted he always dreamed of representing his country on the grandest stage.

Indeed, Gli Azzurri will face Germany in a blockbuster Nations League quarter-final tie.

“I dreamed at a young age of playing matches like these, against such strong teams,” Barella added.

“We are also a strong team that has regained the confidence it lacked for a certain period.

“It’s not a pact, it’s a duty. We will do everything to qualify for the World Cup.

“This team has the quality and ambition. I experience and I don’t want to go through that again.”
