Inter take on Milan in the derby for the third time this season this evening.

The Rossoneri have won both of the precious encounters, in Serie A and in the Supercoppa Italiana.

Prior to that, Inter had won six in a row. That was a sequence that included a two-legged Champions League semifinal tie.

However, it is now Milan who are in control of the fixture.

That is in spite of the fact that Inter have been in far better and more consistent form than their city rivals for much of the season.

Furthermore, the Nerazzurri had had a 2-0 lead in the second half of the Supercoppa final. However, Milan’s frenetic comeback exemplified just how unpredictable the derby can always be.

Alessandro Bastoni: “Inter Want Revenge On AC Milan” In Derby

Alessandro Bastoni admitted that “We have a strong desire [for revenge] particularly because the last loss cost us a trophy.”

“It left us scratching our heads,” the 25-year-old reflected.

“Because beyond being a derby, we lost out on a trophy.”

“We clearly and calmly analyzed what we need to do better,” Bastoni insisted.

“And we’re ready to show that on the pitch this evening.”

Alessandro Bastoni said that Milan “have great attacking quality.”

“And when we lost a bit of balance, they caused problems for us.”

“But I want to reiterate that we analyzed the match on a technical level, clearly,” Bastoni said. “We’re focused and ready to play a great match tonight.”

And as far as the pressure on Napoli as well, the Inter defender said “Sure, but it’s still a long season.”
