Federico Dimarco admits that Inter Milan have “dropped too many points” in Serie A already, but are still close to the top of the table.
The Italian international spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, ahead of tomorrow’s Champions League clash with RB Leipzig.
Inter are hardly lagging behind in the Serie A table at the moment. They are right in the thick of it at the top end of the table.
But the problem for the Nerazzurri is that there are quite a few other teams right up there with them.
Juventus are three points behind Inter after their draw with AC Milan over the weekend. And then all of Atalanta, Fiorentina, and Lazio are level on points with the Nerazzurri.
And Napoli lead the way in the table. They are one point ahead of that cluster of teams including Inter.
Inter wingback Dimarco said that “The team is doing well.”
“We saw that in Verona,” he went on. Inter beat Hellas Verona 5-0 in their return to Serie A action from the international break over the weekend.
Dimarco said that “The group is doing well.”
“We enjoy being together and we enjoy ourselves, and that’s the most important thing.”
“Between the league and the Champions League, we’ve dropped a few too many points in Serie A,” Dimarco admitted.
“But we’re a point off top spot. We have to keep going like this.”
As far as tomorrow’s match against RB Leipzig, Dimarco stressed that “We have to play our game as always.”
The Italian international said that Inter must “go out on the pitch and show that we want to bring the result home.”
“The fact that we’re playing in front of our fans adds to the desire to play a great match,” Dimarco said.
