Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta identifies the win over Juventus as the most emotional victory of the club’s 2023/24 campaign.

The Nerazzurri won the league title by a landslide, with a 19-point gap separating them from their runners-up AC Milan.

Nevertheless. there was a point in the middle of the campaign when Max Allegri’s Juve was threatening Inter’s lead.

This set the stage for a greatly-anticipated Scudetto on February 4th at San Siro. Federico Gatti’s own goal proved to be the solitary difference on the night.

The result gave Inter a healthy lead, while the Old Lady crumbled afterwards, succumbing to a mid-season crisis.

Therefore, Marotta chose this victory as the most significant and emotional moment of the season, at least from a sporting perspective.

“My most joyful moment? From a sporting point of view, I would choose the victory over Juventus at San Siro,” said the 67-year-old during the presentation of the ‘Inter, two stars on the chest’ movie (via FcInterNews).

Inter Milan President Beppe Marotta Recalls The Importance of Victory Over Juventus

“From a general point of view, I can’t forget April 28th, when after the match against Torino the team traveled around the entire city by bus accompanied by a mass of people who had a common denominator in the black and blue faith.

“And that had great power, that of breaking down an ethnic, cultural and economic-financial barrier. They were all involved in this great feeling that is the love for Inter.”

Marotta was one of the main architects of Juve’s nine-year winning dynasty. He left the club in 2018 and joined Inter shortly afterwards.

This was a move that ultimately changed the landscape in Italian football.
