Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta talked to the press ahead of tonight’s Champions League showdown against Bayern Munich.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia via FCInterNews, Marotta admitted the club’s readiness to change the transfer policy.
Since arriving from Juventus in 2018, Beppe Marotta has turned Inter into a formidable force.
Indeed, the experienced executive has assembled a super squad at the San Siro without spending insane figures.
On the contrary, he has based his transfer policy on Bosman deals and cost-effective additions.
Unfortunately, such an approach has a downside.
Many players who have joined Inter during Marotta’s regime have come in their 30s or close.
Therefore, Simone Inzaghi has one of Europe’s oldest rosters at his disposal.
Despite that, the reigning Scudetto holders have become a team to beat in Europe, let alone Serie A.
However, Oaktree Capital Management plans profound changes in the summer.

“In order to build a winning squad, because we want to be winning next season too, you need to have specific characteristics,” he said.
“You need young as well as experienced players. A hard Italian core that must be safeguarded, whilst containing costs.
“We look around for different types of profiles. We want to rejuvenate the squad and to lower the wage bill.
“But we don’t turn up our noses at the opportunity to evaluate so-called experienced players.
“However, our guideline is to create a patrimony out of players signed.
“In our coming transfer window, we want to invest in young players with potential” Marotta began.
Inter’s quest to conquer Europe’s most prestigious club competition faces a stern quarter-final test.
Indeed, Inzaghi’s charges are about to lock horns with runaway Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich.
“We’re doing very well, being here is an honor for us, for sure,” Marotta added.
“What matters is being in the right place at the right time. Every match tells its own story.
“This is a game where motivation plays an important role.
“But the players get themselves fired up even without the energy the coach is able to transmit.
“It’s a great setting and a big opponent – a real showcase for football. Hopefully, we’ll give a good account of ourselves.”

Finally, Marotta addressed growing speculation linking Inter with a move for Marseille winger Luis Henrique.
“Let’s say he’s a good player, absolutely,” he stated.
“But there are many players on our radar – Ausilio and Baccin are very active with our scouting team.
“When the time is right, we’ll make the necessary adjustments. Right now, it’s too early to draw conclusions.”
