Julio Cesar is reluctant to compare to the 2009-10 Treble season, but feels that this Inter Milan side have “clicked.”
The Brazilian gave his thoughts in today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. He stressed the importance of reaching the 2023 Champions League final for the Nerazzurri.
Inter Milan are currently in the running in all competitions.
The Nerazzurri are top of the Serie A table. They sit three points ahead of Napoli, at least before the Partenopei take on Empoli tomorrow evening.
Meanwhile, in the Champions League Inter face Bayern Munich on Wednesday. They have a lead to protect from the first leg of their quarterfinal tie, though they know it won’t be easy.
Meanwhile, in the Coppa Italia Inter will face city rivals AC Milan in a semifinal second leg in less than two weeks.

Inter do know what it’s like to win every major trophy on offer in a season.
In the 2009-10 campaign, the Nerazzurri won the European Treble. This consisted of the Serie A title, the Coppa Italia, and the Champions League.
Goalkeeper Julio Cesar played a major part in that triumph.
Cesar remarked that “when you prepare for a season, you prepare to win every trophy.”
“That happened under Mourinho in 2010,” the Brazilian continued. “Everything was managed very well.”
“We had the aim of arriving at the end of the season in top condition at the key moments.”
Cesar suggested that “I don’t think there’s a magic formula.”
“I think it all depends on the work you put in,” the former keeper added. “And on a brilliant coaching staff preparing the players.”
As far as the current side and the Treble team, Cesar cautioned that “I don’t like to make comparisons.”
“I will say that we were able to take advantage of the chance we got,” he continued.
“And I think that today’s Inter should do the same.”
“This is a very strong team,” Julio Cesar said of the current Nerazzurri side. “They can compete with all the big teams in Europe.”
“The final in Istanbul, which Inter deserved to win, made something click,” said Cesar of Inter’s narrow loss to Manchester City in 2023.
“Today’s Nerazzurri team are consolidated. The players are aware of how good they are.”
