Inter must decide between Arnautovic and Correa

Inter still have a decision to make in the transfer market, as either one of Marko Arnautovic or Joaquin Correa are expected to leave the club before the close of the transfer window later this month.

Inter must sell at least one of Arnautovic or Correa

Though Simone Inzaghi would ideally like to keep them both on board, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports that Inter do not have the space to accommodate five strikers in the first-team squad. Lautaro Martinez, Marcus Thuram and Mehdi Taremi will be the top three in the Nerazzurri pecking order this season.

There are two reasons why Inter have to sell one of Arnautovic or Correa. Firstly is the UEFA squad list, from which one of them will have to be sacrificed if Inter keep five senior strikers on their books.

Then there is the matter of wages, as Arnautovic is reportedly earning €3.7m per season, and Correa €3.5m, both of which are high figures for players who are not first-team starters.

Both players have had plenty of offers so far this summer, but so far, neither have accepted any proposals.

Arnautovic had been tipped as a potential option for both Fiorentina and particularly Genoa, but the Rossoblu have now found a replacement for Albert Gudmundsson in Andrea Pinamonti.

Correa was also briefly linked with a Genoa move, and has also rejected offers from River Plate and Estudiantes back in Argentine, as well as another proposal from AEK Athens.

It is still likely that at least one will be moved on before the end of the summer transfer window, and, as it stands, La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests that Correa is the more likely to be on his way out.
