Eveliina Summanen and Olga Ahtinen played a part in helping Finland overcome Scotland on Tuesday evening to secure their place at next summer’s UEFA Euro 2025 Finals.

Following a goalless draw in the first-leg of their play-off tie with Martha Thomas’ Scotland side, Finland struck two first half goals at the Bolt Arena, in Helsinki, to claim an important 2-0 win to claim their spot in Switzerland.

Eveliina started and completed the full 90 minutes as she provided the assist for the opening goal, laying the ball off to Natalia Kuikka who then sent a powerful shot from distance into the back of the net, before Nea Lehtola grabbed the second goal of the evening just before the half hour mark.

Midfielder Olga was a second half substitute, coming on just after the hour mark, to help keep Scotland at bay, while Martha also started for Scotland and completed the full match.

Sweden will also be travelling to Switzerland next summer after an emphatic 6-0 victory over Serbia in the second-leg of their play-off tie on Tuesday evening.

Defender Amanda Nilden was an unused substitute, while Matilda Vinberg was not involved in the matchday squad, but both players have played integral roles throughout the qualifying stage to helping their nation progress to the Finals next summer.

Those four will join Jess Naz’s England, Maite Oroz's Spain and Luana Buhler’s Switzerland for the tournament, with the main draw set to take place on Monday 16 December.

Elsewhere, Araya Dennis started and completed an hour for England Under-19s as the Young Lionesses were beaten 1-0 by Poland in their UEFA Euro 2025 Women’s Under-19s Championship qualifying fixture on Tuesday afternoon.

Midfielder Anna Csiki was also named in Hungary’s starting XI for their international friendly against Malta before being substituted in the 80th minute as it ended 1-1 at the Centenary Stadium.
