Simone Inzaghi wants to bring in Ricardo Rodriguez after Tajon Buchanan’s injury, but Inter owners Oaktree disagree and would prefer a different option.
The Nerazzurri are looking around for a new right wing back this summer after the 25-year-old Canadian suffered a broken tibia whilst away at the Copa America, an injury that’ll keep him sidelined until December at the earliest.
In the meantime, Inter are also on the hunt for more reinforcements up front but first need to find new homes for redundant duo Joaquin Correa and Marko Arnautovic, neither of whom has a future in Inzaghi’s project in the Lombardy capital.
Page 20 of today’s Corriere dello Sport details how Inzaghi is keen for Inter to snap up Rodriguez on a free transfer to cover Buchanan’s injury, but club owners Oaktree disagree due to his age, instead wanting to rejuvenate the squad.
The 31-year-old Swiss full back would be happy to sign a one-year contract worth around €1.5m net per season and the Nerazzurri coach believes he is the right option, allowing them to spend more resources elsewhere on the pitch.
