Ipswich Town have had a fairly busy month - even if the January transfer window hasn't brought a host of new arrivals.

However, the market is now set to close this evening at 11pm, leaving clubs with little time to complete their remaining business.

The Tractor Boys will be hoping to strengthen as they hope to aid their push for promotion to the Premier League.

Kieran McKenna’s side has already welcomed new additions Jeremy Sarmiento and Ali Al-Hamadi to the club.

But their business may not yet be concluded, with a few hours remaining in the winter market.

Kieffer Moore update

Ipswich have been competing for the signature of Kieffer Moore throughout the transfer window, but have been unable to complete an agreement with Bournemouth.

It is understood that the finances of the deal have prevented any movement, with Sunderland and Cardiff City also interested in the Wales international.

According to Alex Crook, the Cherries are considering a move for Getafe’s Enes Unal.

If Unal arrives at the Premier League club, then this could open the door for Moore’s exit from Andoni Iraola’s side.

A lack of alternative options in the squad has also played a role in Bournemouth’s stance to keep the 31-year-old, but that could change if a replacement is signed before the end of the evening.

According to The Telegraph, Ipswich are still pushing hard to complete an agreement with the top flight side for Moore before the window close while Crook has Town leading the race for the striker.

Marvin Johnson pursuit

It has been well documented this January that Ipswich are pursuing a move for Sheffield Wednesday’s Marvin Johnson.

The promotion-chasing club saw a bid rejected for the player already this month, and have been unable to convince the Owls to sell the 33-year-old.

However, according to The Telegraph, Ipswich have not given up in their chase of the Wednesday player and could even come back with one last approach on deadline day.

Ipswich are hoping to strengthen on the left flank and see Johnson as someone who could add some flexibility to their options on that side.

But it remains to be seen whether an agreement can be reached with Wednesday, who themselves are battling against relegation from the second division.

While Ipswich pursue Moore, the club has also identified a number of potential alternatives.

McKenna is keen to add some extra firepower to his side prior to the market closing on Thursday night, as the team chases a top-two spot in the table.

However, according to the East Anglian Daily Times, their pursuit of Sam Gallagher will not be progressing.

Blackburn Rovers have turned down their advances and have made clear their stance that he is not for sale, despite submitting a £2 million bid.

Ipswich have also reportedly enquired about Eintracht Frankfurt’s Jessic Ngankam, who is also attracting interest from Luton Town and several European clubs.
