You have to feel for Istanbul Basaksehir’s Irfan Kahveci.
The 25-year-old scored a stunning hat-trick for his side tonight, netting all of his goals with superb efforts from outside the box.
All three came via his deadly left foot, including a superb free-kick for his third, and saw him equal the efforts of a certain Englishman.
But the night ended in disappointment for Kahveci as his side’s defensive collapse saw Leipzig secure a last minute winner from Alexander Sørloth.
That also allowed him to enter the history books.
Now that is bittersweet.
