Isaác Brizuela accepts that it is time for him to assume a leadership role at Chivas.
The winger, who will turn 30 in August, has become one of the elder statesmen at the Flock since his move from Toluca in 2015.
And Brizuela believes he is ready to take on the extra responsibility for Luis Fernando Tena’s men.
“I do not feel an extra weight. On the contrary, it is a good thing for me to show good character and show that I want to be a great leader for this institution,” the diminutive wideman told ChivasTV.
“I know that I am missing a lot, but I must take on these roles and I am 100% committed to give more.”
Chivas will return to action after the Covid-19 shutdown by competing in the Copa por México (Cup for Mexico).
Los Rojiblancos will play their opening game of the tournament when they host city rivals Atlas behind closed doors at the Estadio Akron next Saturday.
