However, life at Chivas has not been easy as of late as Chivas have failed to qualify for the Liguilla, for now, their fifth consecutive season.

Despite the recent turmoil that has Chivas second-bottom in the relegation table, Brizuela has pledged his life-long loyalty to the club.

“I am very happy here, I want to retire here. I know that sometimes the years go by and that I do not have the final decision, but I will do everything to stay here.

“I have the dream of winning another title with Chivas and, for now, I have three years left on my contract. I hope to be here for a long time.”

Chivas will finish the 2019 Apertura season with matches against Querétaro and Veracruz.
