Despite strong links with a move to Galatasaray, Ismail Jakobs (25) was involved in training for AS Monaco today. However, Augsburg-bound Chrislain Matsima (22) was absent.
Despite starting both of Monaco’s first two matches of the Ligue 1 season, Jakobs is expected to depart the club before the closure of the transfer window, which in Turkey, only closes on 13th September. Galatasaray therefore have time to close the deal and Jakobs is yet to jet off. Ahead of that expected move, he was present in Friday morning’s training session, attended by Get French Football News.
However, Matsima, who according to Fabrizio Romano is set to join Bundesliga side Augsburg in a deal worth over €5m, was absent, alluding to an imminent departure from the Principality club. Should he leave, he will become the second central defender to depart Les Monégasaques in a matter of hours after Guillermo Maripán joined Torino on Thursday.
