Remember when JosƩ Mourinho was involved in a touchline fracas with Chelsea coach Marco Ianni earlier this season and everyone lost their shit?
That was nothing compared to what youāre about to see.
On Tuesday, Giancarlo Favarin ā coach of Italian Serie C side Lucchese ā was handed a five-month ban for head-butting a member of an opposing teamās staff and telling a player to break an opponentās legs.
The incident took place during a brawl at the end of a 2-2 draw between Lucchese and Alessandria on Sunday and when you see the footage, youāll understand why the shaven-headed Favarin has been disciplined so strongly.
Serie Cās disciplinary tribunal said in a statement that Favarin made āblasphemous remarksā during the match and āinvited his own player to ābreak the legsā of an opponent.ā
He also ābegan a slanging match with a member of the opposing teamās staff at the peak of which he hit the latter with a violent head-butt, making him fall to the ground.ā
And Gaetano Mancino ā the man on the receiving end of Favarinās head-butt ā has himself been handed a two-match ban for āoffensive and provocative behaviour towards the coach of the rival team during the match.ā
