Italian journalist Gianfranco Teotino has heavily criticized out-of-sorts Inter Milan megastar Lautaro Martinez.

According to the Sky Sport reporter via FCInterNews, El Toro isn’t in the best physical shape.

Lautaro Martinez was the driving force behind Inter’s landmark 20th Serie A title in 2023/24.

Indeed, the 27-year-old won the Capocannoniere award with 24 league goals.

Furthermore, his red-hot form last season earned him the MVP title.

However, the Argentine’s form has fallen off a cliff in 2024/25.

While Marcus Thuram continues to make the headlines, Martinez has become the subject of intense criticism.

The ex-Racing Club center-forward has only netted five goals in 14 league appearances this season.

That’s a far cry from his sterling exploits last year.

Frustration boiled over in Inter’s 2-0 home win against Como on Monday.

Desperate to end his scoring drought, Martinez did more harm than good against the Lariani.

He frequently refused to pass the ball in dangerous areas, often opting for a shot, even though his teammates were in better positions.

Despite his torrid time, Simone Inzaghi left him on the pitch until the 88th minute.

However, that wasn’t enough to impress Teotino.

“I found Lautaro a bit sluggish,” he said. “He doesn’t seem to be in the best physical shape.

“It’s a bit like he’s carrying more weight. Once, he had a sprint, a readiness to get on loose balls that don’t have now.

“In my opinion, he has to find that energy that we don’t see now.”

Martinez is currently on a four-game scoreless run in Serie A.

His last goal in the domestic championship dates back to November 3 when he netted a game-winner against Venezia.

Moreover, he has also struggled in the UEFA Champions League, scoring just once in six matches.
