Vincenzo Italiano believes that Bologna put in a relatively sound performance despite their 1-0 loss away to Monaco in the Champions League on Tuesday night, and explained that it is difficult to prepare the team with such a short turnaround between matches.
The Rossoblu tactician admitted that he only had one short training session and a brief bit of video analysis to prepare his players for the Monaco game.
Though Bologna have not yet scored in the Champions League after four matches, Italiano believes that his players have put teams in difficult situations, which he takes as a positive.

He also insists that the game is already out of his players minds, as they are already beginning to focus on the Serie A match against Roma on Sunday.
“Tomorrow we will open a new chapter for Roma, convinced that we played a good game today and knowing that we just weren’t able to convert our goalscoring opportunities,” Italiano said during his post-match press conference.
We are playing against teams that are better than us in this competition and it’s not showing, because we’ve 100% put some of them in difficulty.
“We have to take the positives, we will hold firm. I have just watched our four clear chances to take the lead with my staff, and we just didn’t have the ability to put them in.”
Italiano went on to explain that he didn’t exactly have much time to get his players ready after their 1-0 victory over Lecce on Saturday.
“We prepared for this match in pre-season, not yesterday, because we only did 48 minutes of training and 20 of video. We prepared for the game on our principles.”
“Physically Monaco are a very strong team and it’s not easy to play against players like that. I’m happy because I think I suffer before the matches more than I do afterwards. We wanted to give Bologna four points, but nothing is lost yet.
