Inter Milan midfielder Davide Frattesi says that he has “more confidence” at the start of this season with the Nerazzurri.

Frattesi spoke to InterTV ahead of today’s Serie A clash with Torino, via FCInterNews. He stressed that the “work isn’t finished” for him.

Midfielder Frattesi is making his third start for Inter this season.

An injury to Nicolo Barella has certainly been part of the reason why the 25-year-old has started in the Nerazzurri’s last couple league matches.

But that’s not the only reason that Frattesi has been getting these opportunities.

It has always seemed clear that this would be something of a make-or-break season for Frattesi.

The Italian international did not start often for Inter last season, his first at the club. Rather, most of his opportunities came off the bench.

Frattesi did make the most of these chances. He frequently made a big impact as a substitute, including scoring two stoppage time winners on the way to the Serie A title.

But there has been a sense that this is the season for Frattesi to really establish a starting place for himself at Inter.

Inter Midfielder Davide Frattesi: “I Have More Confidence This Season”

Frattesi did well in his second start of the season last time out. The former Sassuolo midfielder scored a very early opener against Udinese, and then was decisive in the midfield battle.

Now, Frattesi will be hoping to build on that performance against Torino this evening.

“Tonight we’re facing a great team,” the Inter midfielder said ahead of this evening’s match.

“I’d compare them to Bologna last season,” he went on.

“Because they’re very organized,” he said of Torino.

“We have to give everything on the pitch because it will be very difficult to win,” Frattesi said.

Then he added that “This season I have more confidence.”

“I’m continuing the work that I started last season,” Frattesi said. “But it absolutely isn’t finished.”
