‘It’s going to happen’ – Dyche issues big hint on Everton takeover ahead of Arsenal clash | OneFootball

Everton visit Arsenal in the Premier League on Saturday.

Ahead of the match, manager Sean Dyche has dropped a major hint that Everton will likely be under new ownership shortly.

The Friedkin Group have agreed to purchase Farhad Moshiri’s shares, and they are expecting official confirmation from the Premier League before Christmas.

While talking about Dominic Calvert Lewin’s contract situation, Dyche says that it is a decision the new owners will make, and the takeover ‘is looking very possible.

Dyche said, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo: “We’ve got to wait and see what the new owners want to do and what their situation is should they take the club.

“It is looking very possible like it’s going to happen, but until it’s done, it’s not done, so we’ve got to wait and see.”

Contract situation critical at Everton

Calvert-Lewin has a contract at Goodison Park until the end of the season.

There is no indication that he will sign a new deal at the club, but things could change under the new ownership.

The 27-year-old could be sold if Everton receive a decent offer for him in January, and everything depends on how quickly the new owners get approval so they can make major decisions.

Calvert-Lewin is not the only player who will be out of contract next summer.

Joao Virginia, Asmir Begovic, Seamus Coleman, Ashley Young, Michael Keane, Mason Holgate, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Idrissa Gueye will be all free agents at the end of the season.

Oriel Mangala, Jack Harrison, Jesper Lindstrom and Armando Broja are due to return to their parent clubs after their loan spells, so Everton have plenty to worry about along with their current form.
