Southampton have parted ways with Ivan Jurić just one day after their relegation from the Premier League.

The Saints made unwanted history on Sunday as their defeat to Tottenham saw them become the earliest side to be relegated in Premier League history.

In the wake of that disappointment, Jurić has left the club, with Simon Rusk (assisted by Adam Lallana) set to take over for their final fixtures of a disastrous campaign.

The former Roma boss only took over in December, winning two of his 16 games and drawing just once, while losing the rest but his contract did include a clause allowing the parties to go their separate ways in the event of relegation.

Southampton need to gain two more points to avoid setting the record for the lowest Premier League points tally.
