William Troost-Ekong silenced the partisan crowd at EbimpĂ©âs Olympic Stadium by opening the scoring with heading home late in the first half.
But Franck KessiĂ© pulled the hosts level shortly after the hour mark through a downward header from Simon Adingraâs corner.
SĂ©bastien Haller snatched the spoils just nine minutes from time as he met another Adingra delivery with an outstretched leg in the penalty area.
The Elephants changed head coaches midway through the tournament as Emerse Faé replaced Jean-Louis Gasset following a poor group stage performance.
