Chelsea cruised past strugglers Brighton to extend their lead at the top of the Women’s Super League.
Scorers: James 46′, 59′ ; Kirby 51′
After an opening 45 minutes of frustrating attempts to break down the Seagulls’ defence, Chelsea came alive after the restart to run away with the match.
A Lauren James strike just a minute into the second-half gave set the stage for a dominant second half. James got herself on the scoresheet once again just before the hour mark, but it came after Fran Kirby had already doubled the lead.
The dominant victory saw Emma Hayes’ side move six points clear at the top of the WSL.
