Tottenham Hotspur’s disappointing run of form continued on Thursday evening as they suffered a 1-0 defeat to Bournemouth in the Premier League.

Ange Postecoglou’s side headed into the match against Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium on the back of a 1-1 draw with Fulham at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.

Bournemouth are doing well this season, while Tottenham have been inconsistent, so it was not going to be easy for Spurs to win against the Cherries.

Tottenham ended up losing the match 1-0. Dean Huijsen’s goal in the 17th minute proved to be the difference between the Cherries and Spurs.

Huijsen was left unmarked at the back post and headed in Marcus Tavernier’s inswinging corner.

What Jamie O’Hara found frustrating about Tottenham Hotspur

Former Tottenham player Jamie O’Hara was following the match, and the talkSPORT pundit was not happy at all with the way the visiting team defended.

O’Hara wrote on X at half time: “That was painful to watch, it’s getting so tiring watching our defending #Spurs

The pundit added in the closing stages of the second half: “Our playing out from the back should be banned it’s a joke #Spurs

Tottenham Hotspur could struggle to finish in Premier League top four

Tottenham have conceded 15 goals in 14 Premier League matches so far this season. That needs to improve.

While Spurs have scored 28 goals in those matches, the North London club need to be better defensively if they are to end up in the Premier League top four this season.

With the likes of Aston Villa, Nottingham Forest and Brighton and Hove Albion all above them at the moment, Spurs need to find a way to keep clean sheets and not concede goals from set pieces.

Tottenham will return to action on Sunday when they take on Chelsea at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in the Premier League.
